Yoga: 30th of Apr. '14

I came with a headache to today's yoga practice. I was going to try do the headstand again but I could not because of my condition. Thus, today I did the usual routine. Even doing the usual practices I could not focus. I think that today is my worst performance in yoga class so far. I could not balance myself and all I could think of during the lesson was when the lesson will finish. The only pose I enjoyed today was the lying down pose. We always spend quite a while on that pose. Only today was I really grateful for that pose and the length of time we spend on that pose.

For next week, I look forward to having a clear head. I hope that next week I will be able to do the yoga practices well without any hindrance from anything including from a headache.

Yoga: 21st of Apr. '14

I did the same routine today, but I tried headstand (also known as king of asana/pose) and pushup. Surprisingly, yoga's headstand and pushup are different than the ones I know. After the first time I did this kind of headstand, I got a headache. However, the second time was a bit better. I stayed longer the second time too. Of course, my supervisor/instructor still helped me. She still held my feet and checked if my head was placed in the right position before I did the headstand. This is because this pose is very dangerous. The position of the bone should be right because if not, it will lead to a fatal injury. The pushup I did today was really challenging too. It was more challenging than the normal pushups I believe because my arms should be closely attached to my body.

In overall, today was a fun yoga meeting. I am challenged to be able to do headstand by myself and hold the pushup pose for at least 3 seconds. Right now, I can barely hold the pushup pose for 1 second so I think I've got a lot to work on.

Below are the pictures of how the headstand and pushup look like in my yoga class today:

Yoga: 16th of Apr. '14

I did the usual movements today. I did the meditation, sun greeting (surya namaskar), child pose (balasana), moon greeting (chandra namaskar), cobra pose (bhujangasana), camel pose (ustrasana) and several other poses. It is getting kind of boring because there is not any difference than the things I did last meeting. Thus, I requested my instructor to teach me something new. I challenged myself to do headstand and pushup next meeting. I am quite excited but nervous too because I want to be able to do headstand and push up but I have never done a headstand or even succeeded in doing a pushup before.

Since one of my "classmates" can't come on Wednesday and I have a holiday on Monday, we decided to have our next meeting on Monday.

Yoga: 2nd of Apr. '14

Today I did the movements that have become a routine in yoga class. These movements include the sun greeting, moon greeting, child pose and meditation. Today I also won the race on holding longest the position of bending my knees and lifting my hands together above my head. It was more challenging this time than last time though. I think it is because I was already tired before the race started. I realized after today's yoga class that I am most weak when doing the movements that relate to my feet. I believe that balancing my body on one leg and making my body horizontal is the most difficult movement in yoga class. My leg cannot stand straight and my body cannot keep perpendicular to my one leg that stands. Another movement that I find most difficult is when, in a sitting position, I need to lean back and hold my body while lifting my hands high. My body keeps on shaking, which makes me laugh and unable to hold for long. However, I want to be able to do this last movement because I believe my body shakes because my stomach muscles are very weak, which must be true because I never practice my stomach muscles.
